White Sox CF Eaton exits game with bruised right forearm

“Everything went black. I couldn’t feel my legs and I was a little dizzy”, Hernandez said. Our pitching has been pretty good.

“We kind of control our own destiny”.

“He’s had a phenomenal year, really from the get-go, from the opening series of the season all the way through”, Servais said.

“We just didn’t get much going offensively”, Seattle manager Scott Servais said.

“You’ve got to get hits with runners in scoring position”, Servais said.

Seattle Mariners’ Dae-Ho Lee, of South Korea, reacts after swinging a strike during the third inning of a baseball game against the Chicago White Sox in Chicago, Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016.

Quintana (11-9) allowed two runs – one earned – and five hits, struck out eight and lowered his ERA to 2.77 in Chicago’s fifth win in seven games. Seager is expected to play on Saturday against the White Sox but that he will have to continue to play through some pain.

“You’re hoping he hangs something”, Lind said of Sale, “or leaves something in the middle of the plate”. Or a guy is trying to hit his last homer to get to a big number. “I’m feeling better every time I go out there”.

Had the Mariners backed Walker with a few runs, it might have been different.

Sale retired the last 16 batters after Lind’s double.

The problem was a familiar one; the Mariners struggled against left-handed starters.

Miranda said he faced Abreu four or five times before.

Aoki appeared as a ninth-inning defensive replacement on Friday as Seattle snapped its three-game losing streak. There are no excuses. “Our pitching was really good today”.

It wasn’t just that they scored nine runs, but they did it all sorts of fun ways.

The Mariners have traded blows with the White Sox in the first three games, and will look to salvage a series split before heading to Texas to face the first-place Rangers.

Perhaps the only bright spot was the debut of reliever Dan Altavilla. Rodon limited the Mariners to one run on five hits in six-plus innings. Todd Frazier kept the inning alive with a single, then scored when Justin Morneau beat the shift with a flyball that dropped in front of the warning track in the right field corner for a triple.

The ball struck the wall and caromed away from Garcia and center fielder Adam Eaton. White Sox C Alex Avila received the day off after homering Saturday in his first game since July 5.

Robinson Cano went 2-for-4 with a solo home run to power the Mariners.

MINUS: The lineup’s six right-handed batters were a combined 2-for-19.

Cano, Seager and Franklin Gutierrez were the only players with hits for Seattle. Instead, it was a two-run single.

Cano reached 30 homers for the second time in his career. Taijuan Walker also hit Jose Abreu twice.

“In the situation that we are in right now”, he said, “it doesn’t matter how well I do or how well I play in the game…if we don’t win, it doesn’t make any difference”. He issued zero walks for the fifth time this season. He allowed a bloop double to Cabrera and hit Adam Eaton and Jose Abreu with pitches to load the bases.

Walker was ideal through three innings, but then started the fourth by hitting Eaton. X-rays surrounding the injury came back negative as he is being listed as day-to-day by the White Sox.
