White Sox clear loaded bases with wild triple play

The White Sox left-hander pitched a solid 6 2/3 innings, recording seven strikeouts and only allowing two hits in the White Sox 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers in 11 innings at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Rangers lost a first-inning challenge when they argued Austin Jackson illegally extended his right leg into shortstop Elvis Andrus while sliding into second base on Abreu’s fielder’s choice.

It was the first triple play for the White Sox since September 18, 2006, against Detroit.Eaton was predictably exultant, exclaiming, “Besides marrying my wife and the birth of my kid, to be honest with you that’s high up there”.

Catcher Dioner Navarro homered and had a sacrifice fly as the Chicago White Sox beat the Texas Rangers 4-1 and completed a three-game sweep. 441 with a home run and three doubles in 34 at-bats, including the postseason, against Lewis.

Victory was close to home twice more during that eighth, which ended when Avisail Garcia and Navarro were thrown out at the plate on consecutive plays.

This offseason the White Sox seemed to not take much of a direction in terms of rebuilding or really trying to build the roster for a playoff run.

Fielder got a bad read on the ball and, like the other two base runners, thought it was going to drop. The Rangers struggled to get the offense going the entire series on scoring four runs total in the three games. Melky Cabrera scored from third on the play.

Ventura (2-0) yielded a run in the first inning, but nothing after that.
