White Sox recall OF Trayce Thompson, brother of Warriors’ Klay Thompson
260 with 13 home runs, 39 RBIs and a. 744 OPS over 104 games, playing primarily centerfield. Shuck hobbled to the dugout after scoring on a wild pitch against the Yankees on Friday, but the Sox used the roster spot for Scott Carroll in what Robin Ventura described as temporary bullpen reinforcement.

“They couldn’t be more happy for me”, he said of his family. First, older brother Klay won his first career championship, helping lead the Golden State Warriors to victory over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. While he jokes it was a tough situation, the advance word has given Thompson’s entire family enough time to get to Chicago to see his debut.
Even though the White Sox’s 15th ranked prospect would find himself in Birmingham (Double-A) two consecutive seasons after his career year, Chicago (AL) general manager Rick Hahn decided to re-promote Thompson to Charlotte this season. Trayce wasn’t in the starting lineup.
Thompson has always had power, hitting 101 minor league home runs in 2765 at bats, or one every 27 at bats. At Triple A Charlotte this season, he batted. The only other position player to reach the majors was Chris Carter (15th round, 2005), who was sent to Arizona for Carlos Quentin before the 2008 season.
That’s because Trayce was just called up to the White Sox.
A good year for the Thompson brothers continues.

We’re not exactly sure of the baseball equivalent of scoring 37 points in one quarter of an National Basketball Association game, but we’re guessing that Trayce is gonna have to put all of the tools on display if he wants to impress mom and dad at Thanksgiving dinner. However, it does look like draft system instituted with the most recent CBA has allowed the Sox to get more adventurous with high school prospects.
