Who’s the real Carey? E! aims to find out with ‘Mariah’s World’
Showing up to her panel to promote her upcoming E! reality miniseries, Mariah’s World, with a coterie of shirtless men who assembled their bodies to form a couch for her to recline upon, Carey served the audience chilled Veuve before settling in to field questions like the goddamn lunatic she truly is.

Other gems (besides her champagne and throne entrance) from the TCA appearance? “This is part of my world”, Carey said.
“I don’t know that anybody really knows the real me”, Carey said. “Like, literally in terms of the real world”.
The teaser video shows that yes, Mariah’s life is that of luxurious jet set living that most of us can only fantasize about, but she also has two young kids and her Las Vegas residency and all of that pressure can sometimes be too much for our precious butterfly. “If I was an agent and discovered them, I’d be like these kids need to be on TV”.
“It was the most abusive experience”, she deadpanned. “By the way, you’ve just driven me to drink”, and hoisted her champagne flute. Her life certainly doesn’t enter the ordinary person’s definition of reality, but it could be good fuel for fantasy.
Keeping it real. Jamie Packer will appear in Mariah Carey’s reality TV show. “Lets show behind-the-scenes, show what it takes to be on tour”, she said. Even though Cannon was present for part of filming, Carey pointed out that the America’s Got Talent host might not make the “final cut” in any of the episodes.
“I’m sorry was that rude?” she asked sarcastically, after reporters gasped and laughed at her dig. “He’s cool about coming around the show”.
Some things never change.
“Is there a female musical artist who is killing it right now?” the reporter asked. “Well, first of all, thank you for acknowledging my planet”, Carey said, as people in the room laughed.
“They would be lovely ladies”. However, she said Wednesday it is not a reality series. “I’m a fan of the show”.
And she wasn’t alone: six shirtless men, their abs looking like they’d been chiseled by a Greek sculptor, emerged (to some bad techno music) and then, MARIAH. “I don’t do shade”, she said.
“I don’t know, but I’m at home and this is what I wear”.

The docu-series, which has followed Carey on her world tour, gives an insight into what really goes into keeping up her fantabulous lifestyle. “I try to keep a consistent schedule, so whether that’s karate or gymnastics or their classes, because they’re not even in kindergarten yet”. They just turned 5, so… we’ll see.
