Who will survive on “The Voice”?

Then there was Adam Wakefield going all in with “I’m Sorry”, a Chris Stapleton tune made famous by coach Blake Shelton. In all the hullabaloo about Miley joining as a coach for season 11, Alicia Keys’ similar announcement got lost. It’s freakish too because although Carson is talking about a female coach, Christina answers it like she is talking about a female singer which has happened many times before this season. The group gives the first television performance of their new single “Wherever I Go”, and it’s just so good.

Daly then brought the artists back to the stage to announce the next round of results.

That leaves Mary, Hannah, Bryan and Laith hoping for the third automatic finale berth – and it’ll be a close call.

Team Christina’s Bryan Bautista and Team Blake’s Mary Sarah collaborated on a rendition of the Ariana Grande single “Break Free”. She is Pharrell’s only shot at winning the season, but she has proven to have what it takes to win it all. Unlike previous weeks, the singers at the bottom of the pack were not granted a chance to vie for the Instant Save. At this point, Shelton, Aguilera and Pharrell all had artists in the finale.

Mary Sarah, by virtue of having the ultra popular Blake in her corner, is my pick to land in the Top 3 (especially coming off a very good performance), even if her overall body of work and vocal accuracy don’t really compare to Hannah, Laith or Bryan.

Additionally, Shalyah Fearing and Paxton Ingram were immediately eliminated after getting the least votes heading into the episode.

Mary kicked things off by singing “Something in the Water” by Carrie Underwood. It was a solid performance, but it didn’t quite have the spark that an instant-save performance should have. Bryan Bautista performed next and sang “Adorn You”. Pharrell said that Bautista is representing Brooklyn in the competition and has done his city proud. Adam said his artist deserves to be in the finals, begging viewers to vote for her.

Laith Al-Saadi to sing for Instant Save! It wasn’t quite as strong as his performance last night, but it was still an accurate representation of who he is as an artist, right down to the impressive guitar solo. Adam complimented Laith for staying true to himself, and said it would be great to have such a different artist in the finale. Out of eight semifinalists four were eliminated and four advanced to the finals wherein they will compete for the ultimate prize. Sound off in the comments!
