VIDEO: Bindi and Derek braved injury and illness to deliver a flawless Quickstep.
Bindi did not disappoint with her performance of Argentine tango Cha-cha-cha for which she received a ideal thirty.
Even Derek was inspired by Bindi Irwin though, and said while they danced together she taught him that “you can have struggle, but you can struggle with joy”. “I can’t believe it!” “Thank you for changing my life”.
Aptly swaying to Footprints in the Sand, Bindi and Derek soared to victory with their moving freestyle. “This has been the craziest ride of my life, and I’ve just had so much fun”, said Skarlatos.
Bindi added: “I’ve tried to just remember his strength, knowing that Dad is kind of still with me”.
During the season, Bindi earned her fair share of fans, thanks in part to her bubbly personality and effervescent charm, and the Aussie is excited to see what her future holds.
Dancing with the Stars will return March 21 for season 22.
The 17-year-old, who was a favourite to win after nabbing several flawless scores throughout the series, pipped fellow celebrities Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and Alek Skarlatos and took home the Mirror Ball trophy.
Ahead of the show, Ms Irwin tweeted the last photo of her with her mum and dad before his death.
Nick Carter performed his song, “I Will Wait” while the three finalists waited to learn their fate. Irwin told Us Magazine when the showed ended.
She and partner Tony Dovolani performed a section of their “I Dream of Jeannie” dance.
