Who won on tax policy in last night’s GOP debate?

At the SC debate Thursday, Cruz and Trump engaged in a heated back and forth, in which Cruz said that Trump “represented NY values”.

Do you think Ted Cruz has any chance of beating out Donald Trump for the presidential nomination?

The two men also sparred over the Canadian-born Cruz’s eligibility to be president.

“The facts and the law here are really quite clear”, Cruz said, before suggesting that by Trump’s own logic, the billionaire himself would be disqualified because his mother was a native of Scotland.

“So, he has no trouble taking money from New York City, but he’s quick to insult our people and our values”.

Senator Ted Cruz has since apologized to the whole state of NY for his rude and offensive words.

“Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio have all demanded an apology, and I am happy to apologize”, Cruz began.

And on Friday’s front page, the New York Daily News smacked Cruz as well, blaring the headline “DROP DEAD TED”. Bff to “Gangs of NY”.

In one particularly provocative Twitter post, Trump posted a photo of the ruins of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks and asked if that was the same NY that Cruz was knocking.

Until Thursday night’s debate, Trump and Cruz had been friendly because they have both been chasing conservatives of the Tea Party movement and did not want to anger them. And in a reference to the Texas senator’s birthplace, the tabloid added: “You don’t like NY values? I think he does a disservice to the Constitution and the country when he thinks he can slide his way, slip slide his way around this serious constitutional issue”.

And declaring that people who think a certain way “have no place in the state of New York” sure sounds like rank “demonizing” to us.

“I don’t understand [Trump’s] frenzied response because when Donald Trump was talking to Tim Russert, explaining how he’s very pro-choice, explaining how he supported partial birth abortion, explaining how he was open to gay marriage, his explanation – this is Donald’s explanation, not mine”, Cruz told reporters.

“Excuse me, excuse me”, Trump said nervously, as the audience continued to boo.

“I thought it was one of the times when you saw Donald Trump actually show you more of his heart than we’ve seen on the campaign trail”, King said.
