Why Adele Won’t Let Trump Play Her Music
Despite Trump being a fan of the superstar (he was spotted at her concerts in NYC), Adele has told Trump that he does not have permission to use her songs at campaign rallies after fans expressed their anger that he was using the singer’s hits as his warm-up music.

“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning”, the spokesperson said in an email.
Adele is not the first musician to take exception to the inclusion of her music in Trump campaigning, The Guardian reports.
That being said, there’s always room for an artist to complain that their image and reputation is being damaged by the repeated use of a song without their permission. It can be remembered that when the Republican front-runner announced his candidacy, he used Young’s famous song “Rockin’ in the Free World”.
And some fans were not pleased with the Trump connection. Trump then used REM’s It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine), prompting singer Michael Stipe to issue a strongly-worded statement, saying: “Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign”.
Trump is not the only candidate trying to get an edge by hijacking pop culture.
Trump is believed to be a fan of the singer’s work, even having watched her perform in NY. The band, singing a cover version of the Woody Guthrie song, This Land Is Your Land with Sanders, joined the Democratic presidential hopeful on stage at a student rally in Iowa. The Republican presidential candidate, whose slogan is “Make America great again”, has recently been playing Adele’s hit “Rolling In The Deep” as his “warm-up” music in SC.

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler went one step further than Adele and actually sent cease-and-desist letters in October previous year, ordering Trump to stop using Tyler’s “Dream On”.
