According to the Dearborn Heights Police, two girls were found apparently asphyxiated using exhaust from a auto. Gavin declined to explain how they were killed, but the Detroit News reported the four-year-old girl and six-year-old boy died from asphyxiation by carbon monoxide. She was also shot, but survived, according to the Free Press.
Gregory Green was arraigned Thursday on four counts of first-degree murder and one count each of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, torture, unlawful imprisonment, felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm and using a firearm in the commission of felony. He doesn’t yet have an attorney.
The Greens married in 2010, two years after Gregory left prison on his fifth request for parole.
In 1991, Green stabbed his pregnant wife to death then called police to the Detroit home, according to the Department of Corrections.
Green is charged with torturing his wife, by tying her up, cutting her face and shooting her in the foot, before fatally shooting her two teenage children in front of her.
Court records reviewed by The Associated Press show Faith Green filed for divorce in August, citing a “breakdown in the marriage relationship”. She was reportedly denied a personal protection order against her husband. They alleged Green poisoned the two younger children with carbon monoxide, then placed them in their beds.
“The thought that you could do something to your own children has no correlation to any reason in my mind”, Police Capt. Michael Petri said outside court, adding that he was still in “disbelief”. She was still alive and transported to a hospital where she is listed in fair condition. Seventeen-year-old Kara Allen and 19-year-old Chadney Allen were found dead with gunshot wounds.
Police said the man called police at about 1:30 a.m. from the home on Hipp Street and confessed to killing his family.
“I prayed for the children and their mother, to give her the strength to carry on and try to get through her life”, Wencel said, fighting back tears. He was paroled in 2008.
State police are on the scene with a crime lab, assisting local police.
Autopsies on all four victims will be conducted by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. I dont think anybody has that ability..
Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko said he can’t remember anything of this magnitude ever happening during his 45 years with the city.
