Clinton and Sanders both campaigned yesterday in California, which is among six states holding Democratic nominating contests on June 7.
But Clinton maintains she’ll still be the eventual Democratic nominee and she, not Trump, will be the one to pursue Sanders’ agenda.
The Republican Party of New Mexico, however, is welcoming Trump’s visit and said the party looked forward to him defeating Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton, who is leading her opponent Bernie Sanders in the delegate race.
At the weekend, Mrs Clinton sought to downplay Mr Trump’s surge, insisting that she had a better chance of defeating Mr Trump than Mr Sanders.

More than 50 percent of stated Clinton supporters in the poll said they oppose Trump more than they support a Clinton presidency, while Trump supporters with the same state of voting mind were slightly more numerous than said Clinton supporters.
The Institute for Policy and Opinion Research surveyed 610 likely Virginia voters in the last two weeks.
Fox News formally proposed the debate last Tuesday, though the network always knew it was a stretch for a number of reasons. “With a primary so late we usually miss out on all the good stuff”, said attendee Zane Hatfield.
Selwyn said some anti-Trump advocate yelled offensive remarks at her mother when they were getting in line.
Hillary Clinton has elevated her husband’s status as a surrogate and said this month that, if elected, she would put him “in charge of revitalizing the economy”, especially in impoverished areas of the country.
