Why I’m Here For Ebony’s ‘Cosby Show’ Cover

Behar responded that there are plenty of good shows that no longer air on TV, but Warner cited the difference being that “The Cosby Show” reruns were pulled as a direct result of the controversy.

Ebony released the cover art for their November issue, and said it’s “all about the Black family, and a few of our most complicated issues”, via Twitter. The Cosby family hit every mark: educated, cosmopolitan, articulate, and, of course, patriarchal.

It’s a question all fans of the Cosby Show are struggling with. “Huxtables are fictional…” wrote another.

“We really don’t have enough time on this show to really talk about how I feel about that”, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played son Theo Huxtable, said, referring to the cover on The View, where co-host and and Warner’s former cast member Raven-Symone also weighed in. “Let’s just remember that this was a sitcom, and we had writers and things of that nature”.

The sight of the shattered photo obviously brings Cosby to mind as it divides those who have seen it. a few praise the picture as negative attention the embattled comedian and “The Cosby Show” deserve in light of the sexual assault and drugging allegations Cosby is facing amid him feeling entitled to allegedly have sex with women without their consent.

But these critics are either missing the real point of the cover or are not acknowledging (or understanding) the reason why they’re having such a violent response to Ebony’s latest statement piece.
