Madras High Court today ordered Tamil Nadu police to provide adequate security to All India Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, who is visiting the State tomorrow.The court’s decision came after hearing Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) plea, which said that the district administration had not provided sufficient security arrangements to Mr Gandhi who will be addressing a public meeting in Tiruchirapalli.

Congress is not leaving any stone unturned to corner the government over the various scams involving top BJP leaders. On Wednesday, the BJP accused Uttarkhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat of loot and liquor scam during the floods in 2013. “Congress party was the last to support it”.

Amidst slogan shouting by the opposition members and heated exchanges between them and those from treasury benches including by ministers, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien first adjourned the House for 15 minutes and then again till noon.
