Why no one should give up on the Dallas Cowboys
Considering that fact, the Cowboys kept all of those games close to the vest except their 30-6 loss to the defending world champions.

Dallas Cowboys media writer Bryan Broaddus “wouldn’t be surprised” if the team selected a QB in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Tony Romo led Dallas to a 2-0 start, but the season has fallen apart since his injury. The Redskins were beat up by the Patriots and fell to 3-5.
The Giants look to be the team to beat right now, but they are by no means consistent…then again, no one in the NFC East is right now. I have been around a lot of them.
As the Cowboys sit in last place in the NFC East and prepare for their last game without Tony Romo, things seem gloomy for the Cowboys. Certainly, the offense will improve, but keeping the ball moving and keeping the defense fresh longer in the game will help the defense in the 4th quarter.
Yet, when your leading rusher (Darren McFadden) clocks in at 57 yards per game, let’s just say that doesn’t scare most National Football League defenses. Cassel looked like his job security could be in trouble as well before Sunday’s reasonable effort, which included 299 passing yards and three touchdowns but also a fourth-quarter interception that was returned for a touchdown. That’s if NY upsets unbeaten New England and Dallas loses at Tampa Bay. The Giants have a few things that the Eagles do not have.
Ever since Chip Kelly was hired as head coach, we’ve only seen Dennis Kelly at guard, the results of which have been less than ideal.
JASON PIERRE-PAUL: The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end returned to the Giants last week after losing a finger in a July 4 fireworks accident. Manning, Odell Beckham, Jr. and the rest of the offense are clicking – 108 points in the past three games. They just need to figure out how to get more turnovers, and they need to hope the NFC East stays inconsistent.
It’s not like the Cowboys have played poorly throughout their six-game losing streak.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones dismissed the idea of sitting the veteran quarterback for the remainder of the season, even if the team’s chances of making the playoffs are unlikely. The defense has been solid, for the most part, keeping them in games.
First, nearly every team that starts a season 2-6 is an bad team, even at full strength. Obviously, that’s deflating for Cowboys fans to watch and delightful for those who don’t like them. Ultimately I think the Cowboys would have to go 7-1 or 6-2 to win the division.
The Cowboys would not face a quarterback the caliber of Russell Wilson, nor would they see a running back the caliber of Marshawn Lynch these next three weeks.
When it comes down to the second half of the season I think the Giants and Eagles will pass the Redskins and the Cowboys enough to make it a two horse race.

The offense has struggled without Romo, churning through two quarterbacks and two running backs in search of yardage and points. They needed a stop, and the defense couldn’t provide it. Thus, the losses mount and the playoffs fade.
