Rajnath Singh held a separate meeting at Nehru Guest House with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her Cabinet Ministers.
“We do not need any third party to improve ties with Kashmir”.
“No talks should be held with the separatist leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik who are not only responsible for the present situation in Kashmir Valley but are acting as stooges of Pakistan to keep Kashmir pot boiling”, BJP state spokesman Virender Gupta said.
“Pakistan should also refrain from giving the impression that it supports any kind of armed struggle in Kashmir as no issue on regional or worldwide level has ever truly been resolved through warfare. As advocates for human rights we believe that Kashmir, independent of any force and influence from India and Pakistan should have the right to determine its own identity and future”, it adds. “Want to make it clear Indian government does not only want to have need-based relationship with Kashmir, but an emotional one”, he said.
While curfew has already been lifted from four districts – Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam and Ganderbal, restrictions continue in these areas on the assembly of four or more persons, he said, adding the situation across the Valley is peaceful so far.
“Want to reiterate that if anyone has any grievances, it can only be solved through dialogue”.
Mufti on Sunday said the process of revoking the AFSPA can be started on experimental basis.

The daily said the Pakistani military establishment had been previously accused, especially during the 1990s, of engineering separatist movements in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that none of the separatist leaders was inclined to even talk to Mr Singh on telephone. “It is important to start dialogue, confident building measures between the two nations”, said the chief minister. A number of All-Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders have also detained in the same period. They said any meeting would be “meaningless”, accusing the government of “killing and maiming innocent people”. The memorandum demanded a “sustained dialogue with Pakistan and internal stakeholders, including Hurriyat Conference”.
