Earlier this year, Rebel Wilsonwas asked to dress up as Kim Kardashian to present an award at the MTV VMAs with Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner, something which she was clearly not up for. Wilson didn’t want to be paired with them because that is “totally against” what she stands for. They bank on their personalities and the minutiae of their lives to fuel purchases of games, apps and other branded merchandise, to get magazine covers and ratings and spinoff shows, and simply to remain famous. On a few level, it definitely bothers me that the Kardashian-Jenners, who put out clothing and beauty brands and look really hot on Instagram for a living are just as, if not more famous than the Meryl Streeps of the world-icons due to their unmeasurable talent, hard work and grace.

Thirty-something Wilson criticized the Jenners for scoring their fame from their reality show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”, when she toughed it out in Sydney before making it big in Hollywood. “They seem a bit superficial and their careers aren’t really based on talent”, she said in the interview.
“I do think that if you let people in too deep, it gets hard – your fans get too invested, and then they know when you break up and make up”, Kylie said.
