Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall charges refs at exhibition
For now, the National Basketball Association is still on vacation, but certain college teams are already having soccer-style friendly matches to prepare for the season – like Wichita State, one of the best mid-major programs in the country, which traveled to Montreal to take on McGill University.

It may only have been an exhibition game, but Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall was not afraid to tell the referees exactly what he thought of them on Tuesday.
According to the Witchita Eagle, the confrontation began after Marshall earned a second technical foul and was ejected in the Shockers’ 77-71 win. The game was a rough-and-tumble one-Wichita State center Rauno Nurger suffered a concussion had to get stitches to close a cut on his chin-and featured the scoreboard operator forgetting to credit the Shockers with a point on three separate occasions.
WSU trailed 58-46 late in the third period. When McGill scored after Brown’s foul gave it possession back, Marshall attacked.
Marshall was so animated that multiple players and coaches had to restrain him.
Marshall eventually was escorted off the court by Wichita State staff amid a smattering of boos from the small crowd.
Several players and Wichita State staffers were needed to keep Marshall away from the referees after he left the sideline. “Once I reacted, I said, ‘I might as well get my money’s worth'”.
