Widow of ex-South Korean leader travels to North Korea

“She expressed wishes that this visit could pave the way for continuous dialogue, exchanges and cooperation between the two Koreas”.

Lee had visited the North three times before, the last trip being to pay respects during the funeral of Kim Jong-Un’s father, the late leader Kim Jong-Il, in December 2011.

A series of nuclear and missile tests, as well as occasional military clashes along the border, have kept tensions on a high simmer.
