Law enforcement sources reportedly told TMZ that an hour and a half before, at approximately 5:30pm, Lana Rae had made an emergency 911 call reporting domestic violence. The 69-year-old musician told police then that his wife, 63, was looking in a closet where there were guns.

Radar Online reports that LAPD officers later arrived at the Studio City property following a second call, finding one person dead and arresting a suspect.

The ex-bassist told police his wife shot herself or was killed by accident as she searched for something in the closet, according to the site.

At 4:45am on Monday morning Randy was reportedly taken to hospital after “acting in an altered state”. According to that source, Meisner told the police that his wife “was stumbling around, looking for something in a closet where there were two guns”.

In July 2015 friend James Newton was granted temporary conservatorship over Randy after he allegedly threatened “to gun everyone down with an AK-47”. They would not confirm the victim’s or the suspect’s identity.

Last April, the couple denied that Lana was force feeding Randy vodka.
