The One Orlando fund has raised more than $3.6 million, Mayor Buddy Dyer said Wednesday.

Omar Mateen texted his wife, Noor Salman, asking if she’d seen the news, the official said. The marriage license says the ceremony took place in Hercules, California, and that an imam officiated.

His application includes more than half a dozen recommendations from friends and neighbors who praised Mateen’s judgment, work ethic and willingness to “give a hand if needed”. She’s given conflicting interviews to investigators throughout the week as to how much she knew about her husband’s desire to carry out a jihadist attack. That included adding the name of his wife, Noor Salman, to his life insurance policy and making sure she had access to his bank accounts.

The committee sent the letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, asking for help uncovering the trail of hate Mateen left behind in cyberspace. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee. Facebook is cooperating with the FBI, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Mateen then texted: “I love you, babe”.

He spent about three hours inside the club before police finally burst into the club and killed him around 5 a.m.

Mateen pledged loyalty to the leader of the Islamic State during one of these calls.

State records show, “Mateen approached Officer Thompson on 04/14/07 and asked, ‘If (I) was to bring a gun to school, would I (officer Thompson) tell anybody”.

“You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes”.

This week, Comey said no evidence gathered in the Orlando shooting pointed to a “plot directed from outside the United States” or that the killer was a member of a foreign terrorist organization – suggesting Mateen was a so-called lone wolf who channeled extreme Islamic propaganda on the internet.

Mateen also vented on Facebook before and during the massacre.

State records show Mateen passed a psychological exam to earn his firearms license, and performed well in training, sometimes at the same Port St. Lucie gun range where he purchased the weapons used in Sunday’s Orlando nightclub massacre. In June, he searched the site for “Baghdadi Speech” and conducted “frequent local law enforcement and Federal Bureau of Investigation searches, including searching for specific law enforcement offices”.

Both the shooter’s wife and Mateen’s father Seddique, have been placed on no-fly lists by federal officials, as they remain under scrutiny.

The FBI investigated Mateen over those comments and again in 2014 because of his ties to a Syrian suicide bomber who went to the same mosque. In his remarks to 911 and over the years, Mateen has claimed some ties or connections to opposing groups.
