Wild assistant Darryl Sydor charged with drunken driving

Kamloops Blazers part-owner Darryl Sydor is facing drunk driving charges after having been arrested in Minnesota.

Sydor was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer with his 12-year-old son in the front passenger seat en route to the boy’s hockey game when another motorist called police to report what they thought to be an intoxicated driver.

Sydor’s eyes were bloodshot and watery, and his speech was slow and slurred, the complaint said. Per Norfleet, Sydor had a blood alcohol level of. “We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time”, the Wild said in a statement.

“We are aware of the reports regarding Darryl Sydor”.

Sydor had difficulty locating his driver’s license and passed by it several times before locating it and handing it to police.

KSTP reports Sydor was arrested in Fridley, on Highway 65 and Medtronic Boulevard. A police officer took Sydor’s son to his game, and he was later dropped off at home by his coach.

Sydor has been an assistant with the Wild since 2010, and is probably best remembered for his 10 years with the Dallas Stars as a player. He previously served as assistant coach with the Houston Aeros. Death can start coming into play at a.37, so that’s where Sydor was allegedly at the time of his arrest.

Sydor was the seventh overall draft pick in 1990 by the Los Angeles Kings. He won Stanley Cups with the Stars in 1999 and Lightning in 2004 and appeared in the 1998 and 1999 National Hockey League All-Star games.
