Wild, Blue Jackets score two seconds apart, tie National Hockey League record

Yeo said he wasn’t sure if Koivu would spend the night in Columbus. “I was thinking, here we go again, but luckily it went our way”. That lead to a goal from Jacket forward Nick Foligno (the National Hockey League also credited the goal to Boone Jenner, from Foligno and at press time it wasn’t settled who scored and who got an assist).

Cam Atkinson scored for the Blue Jackets. And when they did, they didn’t convert scoring chances.

When asked about the overall atmosphere in the game-the last two games, both at home, saw the Blue Jackets buzzing and energetic-Foligno said that the game lacked a spark to start the fire. “They wait for you to make mistakes and then they jump on you”.

The game was tight all night, but ended with a flurry – three goals in the final minute.

Minnesota Wild’s Jared Spurgeon (46), Zach Parise (11), Erik Haula (56), of Finland, and Ryan Suter (20) celebrate Haula’s third goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets during the third period of an NHL hockey game in Columbus, Ohio, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016.

Wild center Mikko Koivu was injured in the first period and taken to a Columbus hospital after slamming back-first into the end boards following a tangle with Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard.

The Stars earned just one point from games against the Rangers, New York Islanders and New Jersey, letting in 15 goals in the process.

When asked what he thought about his play tonight, Forsberg said he wants the two goals back. He easily scored, with the clock advancing but two seconds. “It’s tough getting through them, and it’s about getting underneath the hash marks. But the key part of the game is who blinks first?”

The Wild led 1-0 after Parise slipped a shot past goalie Anton Forsberg at 17:22 of the first. It didn’t work as while Johansen got by Granlund, Granlund was able to stop the puck from going by him and was left with a clear shot at the goal, which he was lined up perfectly in the middle to take.

Parise made a nifty shot, beating Forsberg with a wrister to the far corner of the net.

Forsberg and Joonas Korpisalo have enough on their plates right now, Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella figured.

Atkinson skated hard to the net and buried a backhand feed from left winger Scott Hartnell from below the goal line.
