Wildfires Tear Through Thousands of Acres in Washington State
The counties included in the order are Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Yakima, Walla Walla and Whitman.

MaryEllen Fitzgerald of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest said Tuesday the fire near the Utah-Idaho state line is within one-fourth of a mile of the Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, which is on pre-evacuation notice. It wasn’t immediately clear how many homes were lost.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
All the park’s main tourist facilities and roads were open Monday, although the fire was creeping toward a key road linking the West Entrance with the park’s interior. “Winds won’t be strong over the next few days, which will help to limit the fire’s spread, but that also means smoke could become dense each morning without the strong winds to mix the pollutants up”.
Fire officials say the blaze was about 3 ½ miles from the hilltop estate on Saturday.
Crews have fully surrounded a massive Southern California wildfire that burned for a week and destroyed 105 homes and 216 outbuildings.
A wildfire in central California that destroyed 47 structures and forced the closure of the famed Hearst Castle has chased more people from their homes.
People in the community of Wellpinit have been told to evacuate.
Almost 1,900 structures were threatened by a blaze in coastal San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties, where more than 2,400 people were under evacuation orders.
The fire in San Luis Obispo County has burned 43 square miles of timber and dry brush since it began August 13. At least 16 homes have been destroyed and hundreds have evacuated, but there have been non injuries, authorities said.
Hearst Castle, the palatial ocean-view estate popular among tourists, remains closed because of proximity to the fire.
They included the Cherry Road Fire, which has charred 31,660 acres (12,800ha) and is 50 per cent contained, while the Kahlotus Fire has burned 20,000 acres and was 19 per cent contained, according to the Northwest Interagency Co-ordination Center. It’s 60 percent contained.

The Sanders County Sheriff’s Office told people to leave their homes outside the small town of Thompson Falls.
