But, after many speculations, the movie is being remade.
Yesterday, it was reported that Preeti Sinha, daughter of Vinay Sinha, has given the film rights to the production house Phantom Films and the upcoming sequel will be helmed by Vikas Bahl or Vikramaditya Motwane.
However, there is a catch.
During a media interaction on the sets of Dangal, Aamir showed his excitement saying, “Really?” After two decades of the film’s release, this cult classic film will be made without the original cast that included Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor.
According to a source close to the development, the film will roll towards the year-end with a fresh cast.
The script of the forthcoming film, developed by Vivek Soni and Hardik Mehta, has been locked and the film would be rolled out by the year’s end, Mumbai Mirror reported. “It’s a super script and promises loads of fun”, the source added.
Aamir Khan also revealed that he is a big fan of Salman Khan’s acting and he absolutely loved the way the superstar looks in Sultan. Plus if this movie can bring them together, nothing like it!
A day after news came of the sequel, the PK actor has expressed interest in reprising the role of Amar Manohar alongside his partner-in-crime Prem Bhopali, played by Salman.
