Will Amazon’s Prime Day Be a Better Deal This Time Around?
The second Amazon Prime Day sale is coming in less than two weeks and the Internet based retailer has revealed a few details about the deals.

Amazon’s announcement, while widely expected, comes one day afterWal-Mart announced a free 30-day trial for its ShippingPass service, which is positioned as a competitor to Prime.
The company is giving members a way to combat missing out on items with new deal alerts as well, which will be sent out via its Amazon app [Direct Link]. Not a problem – you can also take advantage of the offers by signing up to Prime’s free 30-day trial.
Amazon Prime members get access to exclusive deals and discounts. Prime members who open an Amazon Prime Store Card now through Prime Day will get a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card instantly.
Headphones, diapers, video game consoles, wireless routers, mobile device cases and toys were among the items on sale previous year during Amazon Prime Day. As with Prime, Walmart’s service has no minimum order but it is valid only on items that are flagged with the ShippingPass logo.
Eligible countries are the U.S., UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Austria and, for the first time, Belgium. Lightning deals will be offered on Amazon as often as every five minutes, starting at 3 a.m. on the East Coast.

In response, Amazon Prime Vice President Greg Greeley said the company has “dramatically increased the inventory behind many deals”, for this years event and has almost double the number of TV units in the USA “compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined”. The company is offering a 32-inch TV and bundled Fire TV Stick for $119.99. It drove new subscriptions for Prime and sales even topped Black Friday but Amazon was criticized for poor management. ShippingPass doesn’t come with the movie, TV show, and music streaming services Amazon Prime offers. There was online grumbling previous year that the deals were unimpressive, that deal items ran out too fast and were only available for a limited time. It’s a repeat of the one-day sale it launched last year to celebrate its 20 years in business.
