Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu continued from where Sushma left and teared into Congress’s defence.

She read from the autobiography of late Congress leader Arjun Singh who was Madhya Pradesh chief minister when the Bhopal gas disaster took place.
Mr Jaitley said the Congress exhibited that “it continues to be enslaved to a family” and is willing to “compromise national interest and policy merely because the family is unable to digest its electoral defeat in 2014”. He said the Government was still to decide on the next course of action regarding introduction of GST.
Responding Congress’ charge that it was BJP government’s arrogance which caused the virtual washout of the monsoon session, he said the principal source of all problem was that it was unable to reconcile to be in the opposition.
Even today, when the House was adjourned sine die, Congress and a number of other Opposition parties staged a walkout raising a variety of issues, including the demand for the Prime Minister’s reply to the charges against Swaraj and Raje and Chouhan. “It is high time the opposition looks within and introspects rather than shooting the messenger and putting freaky allegations against the government”, he said.
“Yet, under your government, you did not order any investigation against Lalit Modi”, she said.
“This is called quid pro quo”, she said, spelling out the Latin phrase.
“Congress government failed in bringing back former Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi“.
“He said the way the Congress behaved during Emergency, it behaved in parliament – by creating obstruction”, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy quoted Modi as saying.
He said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi can not have anyone outside their family ruling the country.
Modi’s aggression had no impact on the Congress, whose vice president Rahul Gandhi took potshots at the Prime Minister.
“(Narendra) Modi had promised the nation that ’15 lakh black money would go into every bank account. Lalit Modi gives your family money. “Why are they demanding answers from me?”
Prompted by Jaitley, Swaraj said her daughter had appeared with her seniors in the case.
“I tell this to Modi-ji that he has an opportunity”. “Since Rajnathji was not present, he instructed the official present there to inform him [the Home Minister] that he wanted to see him”, a BJP leader said.
While Swaraj reiterated that she helped Lalit Modi on “humanitarian” grounds so that he could visit his wife, who was undergoing cancer treatment in Portugal, Gandhi asked why the foreign minister felt the need to carry out her “humanitarian” work in secrecy.
Finance Minister Jaitley also slammed the Congress leadership, saying it was not able to digest its Lok Sabha rout.
