The Republican presidential frontrunner had been scheduled to meet Mr Netanyahu on December 28th and had also planned a controversial visit to the flashpoint Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s old city, Judaism’s holiest site, which is revered by Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif Noble Sanctuary.
Thirty-seven MPs, including two from Netanyahu’s governing coalition, have signed a letter calling on the right-wing prime minister to cancel the meeting and condemn those comments.

Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University said on Twitter on Wednesday it was revoking an honorary degree awarded to Trump in 2010 because he had “made a number of statements that are wholly incompatible with the ethos and values of the university”.
“Regarding the meeting with Mr. Trump… the prime minister decided long ago to agree to meet all candidates from all parties who request to meet him, without implying support for any candidate”.
“Frankly, Donald Trump’s comments fly in the face of the founding principles of the United States”, he said, adding that they should be confronted through robust democratic argument.
Any petition that gets more than 100,000 signatures is considered by Parliament’s Petitions Committee, which weighs whether to send the petition for debate by lawmakers in Parliament.

While Trump’s plan is still not totally clear, CNN reported that he appeared to be proposing the barring of admission into the country of any non-citizen Muslims, from businesspeople and tourists to immigrants and refugees, though it’s also not clear how immigration officials would “determine an immigrant’s religious affiliation other than through self-identification”.
When asked if he believes if Rubio could pick up speed to defeat Cruz and Trump, Dave Woodward, a South Carolina GOP strategist said, “I think it could – and the reason is, he says all the right things”.
