Will Microsoft Surface Phone Kill The Windows Phone?
The next major update to Windows 10 will be known as Redstone, and so effectively will be more like Windows 10.1. And while Windows 10 has been out since last summer, devices running some version of Windows 8 still account for the majority of Windows Store downloads.

What makes the upgrade very notable is the fact that Microsoft has changed the Windows 10 upgrade from an “optional” update to a “recommended” one. Google is abandoning support for the Chrome browser on Windows XP and Vista in April 2016 – at which time it’s also scrapping updates for Chrome on Mac OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion”.
Contrary to what you might have heard, Microsoft isn’t giving away Windows 10 for free. For instance, pasting files into a new.ZIP file should now work properly, and suggested apps should no longer appear in the Start menu if users have disabled this function in Windows Settings.
Last month, Edge’s share of all Windows 10 users was 26% in U.S.-based analytics firm Net Applications’ estimate. Windows 10 Mobile apps can double as Windows 10 apps too, when developers put in the necessary work. You might be asked to provide your Windows 10 product key. You can avoid this by turning off automatic updates in the settings under Windows Update.
Spiceworks recently wrapped up its second report on Windows 10 adoption by IT departments, and found that 18% of business environments surveyed had adopted Windows 10 within the first six months of its release.
Those sales are much easier when the underlying device is running an up-to-date operating system, which is yet another reason for Microsoft to avoid tampering with its traditional Windows licensing model.
If you look back at how security threats have evolved over time, you’ll find some disturbing trends.
As for Microsoft, the Windows-maker would need to focus on how it can improve offerings on Windows Store in order to attract greater number of consumers to utilize its devices.
As well as Microsoft doing its bit to bang the drum and get businesses thinking about their OS strategy there are other vendors in the market spreading the migration message.
In January, the Washington-based company has begun its efforts in pushing Windows 7 and Windows 8 users to update.
That push, with the goal of being on a billion devices in three years, is apparently paying off, even with companies wary of the challenges the upgrade will bring.

Microsoft said that if users don’t have any problems with the above mentioned limits, they are highly encouraged to update their systems. Remember, you have only 31 days to change your mind.
