Will not forget Uri, Pakistan will be isolated, Modi launches fierce attack

Meanwhile, some hard-line Hindu leaders and army commanders have asked the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take heavy-handed measures against Pakistan including intruding the Pakistani territory and launching military operations against the Pakistani extremist groups. “I want to tell the leadership of Pakistan that the sacrifice of our 18 jawans will not go in vain”, Modi told a largely-attended public meeting on the Kozhikode beach held on the sidelines of the BJP national council meet.

Speaking to reporters in London, where he arrived on Friday after addressing the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Mr Sharif said that before accusing Pakistan, India should have looked at its atrocious role in held Kashmir.

“Rulers of Pakistan listen, the sacrifice of 18 soldiers will not go waste”. According to Dobby, India will try to isolate Pakistan internationally.

“We will isolate you”.

While applauding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address to the UNGA, Rana Tanvir said it was a true reflection of the aspirations of the Pakistani and Kashmiri people.

“There would have been a bloodbath had they succeeded in carrying out attacks in India”, Modi said. Let both countries fight to see who would eradicate poverty first…

In a direct attack on terrorists, Modi said they should heed his words that India will not forget the sacrifice of the soldiers killed in the Uri attack. He tried to underplay the armed forces failure in stopping the Uri attack by spotlighting the uncelebrated successes of the soldiers in thwarting, what he said, “17 infiltration bids over the last few months”.

He said: “Only one country is exporting terrorism in all directions”.

India is exporting engineers all over the world, whereas Islamabad is exporting terrorists, the PM said. “I’m not aware of any specific conversations at the White House level… for any contacts with either the Indian or Pakistani government, I’d refer you to the State Department”, the spokesperson said. “I want to remind them that before 1947, your forefathers had saluted this land”, he said.

More than 60pc of respondents think India should continue increasing defence expenditure, 20pc want to keep it at current levels, whereas just 6pc believe it should be decreased.

The United States on Saturday asked India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through diplomacy and not through violence. He said, India is being recognized the world over as the fastest growing economy.

For their part, Indian officials further accused Pakistan of lending verbal support for a recently killed militant, Burhan Wani, whose death ignited days of deadly protests in Kashmir.
