Will respond to Pakistan on ‘Uri misadventure’ at multiple levels: Ram Madhav

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s media team has deliberately concealed “important matters” regarding the Kashmir issue “by issuing fragmentary handout” after his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry, a Pakistani media report said on Thursday.

“We will not win the fight against terrorism and violent extremism so long as we do not address their root causes”, he noted, adding that these lie in “poverty and ignorance, political and social injustice and oppression, foreign intervention and occupation and denial of the legitimate rights of peoples and nations, especially the right to self-determination”.

“Pakistan PM at United Nations was at his pathetic best, he talked not like Supreme Commander of Pak but Supreme Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen”.

“This is self-incrimination by the Pakistan Prime Minister. This is self incrimination”, Akbar said.

“We are open to discussing all measures of restraint and responsibility with India, in any forum or format and without any conditions”, Sharif said.

The firing violates the 2003 ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan along the worldwide boundary and the LoC – the de facto border that divides Jammu and Kashmir between the two neighbours.

“Pakistan at this moment seems to be run by a war machine rather than a government”. He scoffed at Islamabad for wanting dialogue while holding a gun, adding India will “never succumb to such tactics and blackmail”. We can not and will not allow terrorism to prevail.

Pakistan’s decision to close airspace over the country’s northern areas and flights by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter planes on Wednesday fuelled rumours that the armed forces were preparing for a possible Indian attack. He said Pakistan has nothing to gain from such incidents and in fact these are part of the Indian attempt to divert attention of the world community from its repression in Occupied Kashmir.

“Pakistan’s consistent use of war and terrorism has been at the cost of development of the people of Pakistan”.

While noting that practical cooperation focussing on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has made positive progress, Li urged the two sides to carry out the planned construction of the corridor, accelerate the building of the Gwadar Port as well as its supporting facility, and bring more companies into industrial parks, the report said. “Where is the question of the extra mile?”

Pakistan received a huge diplomatic setback despite putting on a lot of efforts, as UN Secretary General completely ignored discussion on J&K dispute while addressing the 71st session of the UNGA.

“Peace can not be built when injustice prevails”, he added, noting that it is essential to reconcile the divergent objectives and priorities of regional and external powers. Even in the first weeks, the dialogue process was disrupted. Hope you heard the others’ speeches (at the Assembly). “With the approval of authorities, many terrorist organisations raise funds openly in flagrant violation of Pakistan’s global obligations”, she said.

“This is an objective evaluation, not a partisan position”, he said.

He further demanded an independent inquiry and a United Nations fact finding mission to investigate the situation in Kashmir.
