Will Samsung’s Galaxy S8 gamble backfire in 2017?
Samsung is only a few months away from unveiling the Galaxy S8 to the world. This simply means that if somebody wants to listen to music and charge the mobile at the same time, the person will have to get a Bluetooth headset. It’s unclear whether the company’s smartphone will ship with an adapter, like the iPhone 7. With a number of tech companies interested in advancing in-ear computers (or “hearables”), removing the headphone jack could help make that sort of truly wireless form factor more accepted. The decision will be seen as a blow by Samsung fans and those unimpressed by Apple’s decision to ditch the headphone slot in its iPhone 7.

SamMobile also reports that the Galaxy S8 will have a high screen/body ratio (akin to the Xiaomi MiMix) and will retain the S7’s 2560×1440 AMOLED display.
We lost so many things in 2016. but the one that hurt the most had to be the headphone jack!
The report further claims that Samsung will put stereo speakers in Galaxy S8, probably made by Harman which Samsung is planning to buy for $8 billion. Given the homogeneity of smartphones these days, it is unlikely to come as a great surprise that Apple’s chief antagonist, Samsung, is also now rumored to be replacing the standard 3.5mm jack for its next flagship smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to debut in February 2017 at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017; but just a few months away from its highly anticipated launch, some interesting details about the smartphone have surfaced online via SamMobile. According to Android Headlines, Samsung Galaxy S8 may come up with two sizes. However, I’m willing to wager a lot of Samsung users would prefer to have a removable battery and a slightly thicker handset with fully headphone jack support.

Samsung is also expected to change its naming strategy from Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge to Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. This will definitely free up space for more components and a larger battery especially as the jack had a size of 3.5 mm.
