If the 15 second sample of Writings On The Wall is any indication of the rest of the track, Bond purists will be pleased to discover that Sam Smith’s official Spectre single stays true to classic, cinematic themes from the 60s.
Unfortunately, that’s all you’ll get until Friday, when the full “Writing’s on the Wall” is released.
The singer and song-writer revealed that he has started work on his follow-up to In The Lonely Hour, but doesn’t have any plans for release yet.
Sam Smith says there won’t be new music “anytime soon”.
“I’m writing when I want to”.
The soul singer has shared a short clip of his song for the latest James Bond film, featuring a soaring string section. “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations”.
“I just lied, I don’t think I lied very well”.
Smith told presenter Nick Grimshaw: “I’m so relieved to actually talk about this, this has been top secret mission of my own”.
Sam Smith has been doing his best to keep the highly anticipated “Spectre” theme song under wraps, but it looks like he couldn’t help himself!

“I got called into the office with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes and they gave me the script, I read the script… they said, “Have a go at the song”, Smith previously explained of the experience.
