“You know the slogan, ‘Strength in Numbers, ‘ ” Klay Thompson said.

“Obviously, being up 2-0 does give us more cushion if we decide to sit him (in Game 3). He’s getting treatment. We’ll have an update tomorrow”.

“Right now I don’t see a scenario where I’ll be out”, Curry said via CBS Sports.

Kerr said he spoke with Curry earlier as well about the team’s decision-making process when it came to his right ankle, which was surgically repaired in April 2012. That set the tempo for the rest of the night as Golden State led from that point on. Now the betting odds for the game have the Warriors listed as a comfortable favorite in this one. Some are even calling Curry the best of the best and Allen is among that group. Unfortunately, the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry suffered an ankle injury on Sunday in a win against the Houston Rockets. He’s got a bit of an ankle problem dating back to Game 1 of this series. Harden switches onto Green as the forward spins into the high post.

Houston trailed 33-15 after one quarter of the opener and was down 27 after 24 minutes, but is trying to remain upbeat about its situation. Most of all, they were simply better than the Houston Rockets. He missed 7 of 8 3-point tries.

At one point, Curry lined up to shoot a long jumper from the right wing but didn’t release the ball and hopped in apparent discomfort before throwing the ball in the air. Then on three occasions in the first half, Harden drew a foul beyond the 3-point line and sent the fans into fits.

“It’s not worth risking turning this into a long-term issue”, Kerr said.

The Rockets managed to keep the game close, as the Warriors couldn’t stop fouling Harden. Rockets star James Harden had 17 points and did not shoot a single free-throw attempt. Golden State delivered a strong defensive effort in Game 1, and that’ll be needed again in Game 2.

That is, of course, presuming that Curry is back relatively soon, and his abbreviated, limping pre-game warm-up Monday afternoon would put that into some question.

Although being barred from playing, Curry insists that he would return in earnest to lead his team on Game 2 of the series.
