Will The Next Nexus Phone Feature a Rear-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor?
There’s no word yet on exactly when Google intends to officially reveal the new Nexus handsets, but speculations and rumors suggest that they will be unveiled by the end of September and will start shipping in October. The samples provided for testing were listed as production models meaning that it’s possible that Google could be gearing up for a launch imminently. But they do mention Nexus and Google.

Now, not to be bested by random photos on the internet, Android Police has gone ahead and given us a clearer look at the Sailfish Nexus. Android Police says that both devices will have the “same basic industrial design and materials” with no “plastic” version like previous year. A report from BGR says Sailfish has an advantage over the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 when it comes to the software department.
Also, according to a new report, Google could launch its own premium smartphones in India and a few other countries soon. It is expected to feature a smaller 5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Those can be unzipped, and copied the inside files to your phone’s folders for ringtones and notifications sounds respectively.
The two devices are rumored to be nearly identical to one another, differing only in size when it comes to overall design.

Last year, Nexus 5X and 6P were released as successors of the Nexus 5 and 6, respectively. The larger one, which is not present in the photo, is said to be HTC Marlin. The rear panel is quite different, but only because it has the fingerprint scanner put on the upper half. The device will support Bluetooth 4.2 and Type-C USB charging. Furthermore, Sailfish will be powered by Snapdragon 820 with 3.7GB of RAM. I mean come on leaksters, if you can’t afford a decent camera, at least get a current smartphone for God’s sake! HTC is reportedly working on another Nexus project code named Starfish. The Marlin is reported to have a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera while the Sailfish will have 13MP rear and 8MP front camera.
