One lingering question for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is what he plans to do during a four-game suspension to open the season, which he was asked about on Tuesday.

Brady said Tuesday he missed the first two practices this week for personal reasons, but that he’s available and ready to play as New England visits Carolina on Friday. He did not elaborate.
While Tom Brady’s excused absences and silly scissor accident have added some unexpectedly freaky intrigue to the team in recent days, it’s still clear what the team is planning as far as the actual games: Jimmy Garoppolo is the starter Week 1 against Arizona, Tom Brady will return as the starter Week 5 against Cleveland.
“I was ready to go, had everything on, and I was just trying to get something out of my shoe”, he said, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “It was just a silly accident”.
“I wanted to go, and coach said it’s probably best, for what I was going to go out and do, if we just take it easy”, Brady said.
If they want you to play, that must mean they have trust for you to play in that position wherever they put me, Cannon said. Brady said he wanted to play, but coach Bill Belichick made the decision he’d sit out.
Brady said the accident wasn’t serious enough that it would have prevented him from playing in a regular-season or playoff game.

“It could be, could not, I’m not sure”, he said. “I think that was a big part of it, just getting the drive started and everything”, Garoppolo said.
