Will The Texans Redeem Themselves On Thursday?

Since arriving in Indianapolis calling the former All Pro a disappointment is an understatement.

Johnson has seven catches for 51 yards with the Colts and no catches over the past two games. “So I’m not going to address one (report) that would give it any credence”. “I don’t think many players are”, he said. If the roof has been determined to be closed it will remain closed through the game.

The Colts re-signed veteran quarterback Josh Johnson on Wednesday, two days after releasing him. They had brought in Johnson last week to serve as the team’s No #2 QB Matt Hasselbeck’s backup with Luck inactive due to a shoulder injury. He was targeted 22 times last week (nine receptions). I think the Colts will find a way, but that’s with Luck playing. Do you see them turning things around the remainder of the year and walking away with this division, or will one of the other teams be able to capitalize on the slow start?

“He’s moving in the right direction, trending in the right direction so he’s a lot better than he was”, Pagano added. Despite all the drama, they have a chance to be tied for the division lead with a win at home against Indianapolis on Thursday Night Football.

Without Hasselbeck, Pagano said Luck took most of the snaps and threw a few passes during the closed portion of practice.

I will say O’Brien is doing them no favors with how often he is dialing up the pass. It’s time to rely on running and protect whoever is back there from themselves. Pagano said his quarterback looked good in practice Monday and Tuesday, but wouldn’t be specific about what he looked good doing.

The Colts are primarily an offensive team so it will be hard for them to win more games unless the offense starts scoring on a consistent basis.

No team wants the game to come down to a kick, especially one from around 50 yards.

While his return is encouraging for a rushing attack averaging a mere 99.8 yards per game, Foster was supposed to miss upwards of two months and the Texans are likely to work him back slowly and continue to split carries with Alfred Blue and Chris Polk.

Last weekend against the Falcons, Houston committed four turnovers – Arian Foster, C.J.

The Texans don’t have the same quarterback dilemma that the Colts are experiencing but despite a media and fan base outcry to place Brian Hoyer in the starting quarterback role Houston head coach Bill O’Brien said he is sticking with Ryan Mallett as the team’s No #1.

Mallett was 12 of 27 for 150 yards with an interception in last week 48-21 defeat to Atlanta before being benched.

Indy’s D-line invites the run, Houston just has to avoid falling behind…but they have fallen behind quickly every game so far this year. This time they’ll be on the road against a better divisional opponent eager to get the bad taste of the beating in Atlanta out of their mouths.
