Willem Dafoe joins Justice League cast without revealing character

The actor is no stranger to comic adaptations as he famously appeared as the villainous Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man film alongside Tobey Maguire, director Sam Raimi and J.K. Simmons who also joined Justice League as Batman’s trusted police ally, Commissioner Gordon.

William Dafoe has been cast in Warner Bros. upcoming superhero team-up film, Justice League: Part One.

According to the report, Dafoe will be “playing a good guy in a role that will see him appear in both parts of the JL movies”. With a role spread over both movies it could be any number of iconic characters from the comics. Then there’s the possibility that the “good guy” thing is just a smokescreen, and he’s actually playing a villain or a bad guy pretending to be a good guy. Warner Bros. would not confirm who he’s playing in the film, only that he’s one of the good guys. Although, if Dafoe’s character is an ordinary man, he might be a great fit for King Faraday, one of the DC Universe’s top secret agents.

With filming now underway, Justice League is continuing to ramp up its casting.

“Justice League: Part I” began production last week, shortly after the worldwide promotion tour for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” ended.

But this is the possible Willem Dafoe role that we like the best: Metron of the New Gods.
