Captain Kirk is getting ready to boldly go where no man has gone before, and he wants all you “Star Trek” fans out there to tag along for the ride.
“I just knew that my participation would be something that our fans would enjoy”.
Shatner himself will serve as the ship’s de facto captain, appearing alongside other Star Trek cast members including Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker), Denise Crosby (Security Chief Tasha Yar), and John de Lancie (Q) from The Next Generation; Robert Picardo (The Doctor) from Voyager; and James Darren (Vic Fontaine) from Deep Space Nine. “It should be a lot of fun”.
Boardgame fans will be able to try their hands at Star Trek chess and checkers as well as life-size versions of Catan and Risk.
In related news, the franchise’s latest film, Star Trek Beyond, hits theaters on July 8th, 2016. Of course there will be Trivial Pursuit and trivia contests as well.
Also during the sailing will be pool parties, artist clinics, Q&A seminars, interviews, hosted cocktail parties, celebrity guest game shows like Family Feud and a celebrity blackjack and poker tournament. Bars will be themed including Quark’s Bar (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Ten Forward Bar (from Star Trek: The Next Generation), and 602 Club (from Star Trek: Enterprise). After all, Star Trek fans have been attending cruises like SeaTrek even when Gene Roddenberry was alive (as we saw mentioned in the documentary Trekkies).
