Williams sisters have met in 4 Wimbledon finals
For me it’s an awesome day.

“Yes it can go ahead now”, she said.
In fact, Williams had struggled so badly that her rankings slumped to as low as 135th in the world when she was diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome, an illness that causes chronic fatigue and muscle soreness.
“When you walk to the net as the victor that’s the goal, that’s the dream, and for her in her first quarter-final to play so well, so much credit to her”. The road [to get here] was six years.
The Russian, who has long lived under the shadows of her more successful compatriots Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova over the past decade, becomes the third surprise semi-finalist in as many majors this year. If Vesnina – who has never so much as taken a set off Serena in five previous meetings – were to pull off the upset, she would be the first unseeded woman to reach the Wimbledon final in the Open era, which began in 1968. Serena goes on to face Russian Elena Vesnina who beat Cibulkova 6-2, 6-2.
With all due respect to the three other semifinalists, this isn’t about them.
At 36, Venus is the oldest player to reach the Wimbledon last four since Martina Navratilova in 1994.
They have quite a history together.
According to an online portal, Insidethegames, Williams had joined younger sister, Serena, in the last four in a comeback victory at the ongoing Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Can Serena and Venus Williams make the Wimbledon final an all-Williams affair?
Venus and Serena, meanwhile, are still thinking about tennis at Wimbledon. “So you just have to keep working until things fall into place”. It’s never a given.
“I love playing the game”.
She changed that on Tuesday, a straight-set victor as sister Serena, the world No. 1, stepped on court to begin what would be a straight-set win for her, as well. Like I always say, it’s super inspiring.
On a potential finals match against her sister, Serena said, “We’re happy to be in the semi-finals”.
Come on, how can you not be rooting for Venus?
Vesnina has also enjoyed a spell of modelling during her on-court career, appearing in Playboy in racy photographs. Serena, I’m admiring her, I’m always watching her matches. Wimbledon’s stubbornness was particularly notable, so, inspired by the pioneering King, Venus began speaking publicly about it. Most recently, she took the Australian Open title in mixed doubles this year.
“I don’t think about that because you can’t change what happens”, she told reporters. Nearly as good, but not quite the same.
“I had some good wins, I was close to be in the quarter-final a couple of times, but it was not good enough”. The message I like to convey to women and girls across the globe is that there is no glass ceiling.
The sisters have also advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s doubles competition.
It is Venus, however, who (deservedly) has stolen the limelight. “So, hey, let’s do it!” she said.
