Chelsea showed character tonight to dig out a win over Dynamo Kiev and manager Jose Mourinho was clearly touched by the support he received from the home crowd throughout the night when speaking after the game.
“This is my moment”. You have good moments and bad moments. They watch TV. They listen to pundits, commentators, opinions, read blogs, and this was quite unbelievable what they tried to say today.
“Today they said “We want you here” and probably to you (the media) “We want him, let him work”, Mourinho said after the 2-1 victory.
“With Chelsea this is my moment”.
Blues fans sang their manager’s name throughout the game and he thanked the supporters for their “amazing” reception.
“I have no other way to thank them than to give everything I have, which I do always”, said the Portuguese.
Although they are yet to qualify for the knockout stage, Mourinho’s side now enjoy a two-point cushion over third-placed Kiev in Group G with two games remaining. We want him. Let him work.’ It was fantastic. We know we are a good team and once our form clicks we will push up the League very quickly.
“From a mental point of view it was important”.
“Today was the flawless situation. The team played very well – especially in the first half – but we conceded a goal in the second half and Willian scored our second goal through that great free kick and we ultimately got the win”. When the hard moment arrives, face the hard moment.
He said: “At FC Porto he won the Europa League, the league, the Champions League”.
Arjen Robben’s first-time finish and a Muller breakaway strike came either side of Olivier Giroud’s volley. “We know we have to improve more and keep going in the same way”.
“I was told they’re fed up with the way he’s been dealing with a few of them”.
“This is the most prestigious tournament”.
