‘Willy Wonka’ Cast Reunites For Film’s 44th Anniversary On ‘Today’ Show
The cast of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” reunited on Wednesday’s “Today” show 44 years after the film hit theaters to commemorate the anniversary of Roald Dal’s musical adaptation of the classic children’s book, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rusty Goffe played the chief Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Today managed to reunite the original cast of the film and ask them a few questions about their memories of the production and what they have done since the film.
Amazingly, almost half a century on all six say they still have a very close bond, with Mike Teevee actor Paris Themmen explaining: “We think of ourselves as part of a family”.
“The first thing people do when they find out who we are is they smile”, Nickerson said, after all six of them confirmed they’d reprise their famous roles if given the chance.
Even though the cast had a blast during the filming of the movie, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies.
Seriously, Gene Wilder needs to stop this whole happily retired jazz and get back to it. Where were we?
And Julie Dawn Cole, who arguably stole the show as uber spoiled brat Veruca Salt, said she relished stepping into the shoes of such a despicable kid.
“It’s fun to be bad”. Usually your parents are telling you “don’t do this, don’t do that” and we had Mel Stuart our director saying “be meaner, be meaner, be meaner”‘.

They dubbed the joyous feeling associated with the movie “the Wonka effect”. Sound off below and check out the gallery above to see more child stars then and now!
