Cape Town – Jack Wilshere looks set to remain in the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth emerging as favourites to sign the Arsenal midfielder on loan.

The injury-plagued midfielder chose the Cherries over a host of other offers, including from Crystal Palace and Roma.

Wilshere met Howe and the Palace manager, Alan Pardew, on Tuesday, and spoke with the former Tottenham Hotspur director of football, Franco Baldini, about a move to Italy with Roma.

Wilshere, whose lack of game time didn’t hamper his inclusion in England’s Euro 2016 squad, has been highly regarded as one of the Gunners’ key to its next Premier League title.

The England global, 24, had been considering offers from Crystal Palace and Bournemouth after mutually agreeing with Arsenal that he would benefit from playing regular first-team football.

Eddie Howe believes Bournemouth fans will get to see the very best of Jack Wilshere during his season on loan at the club. The Arsenal midfielder was in demand after it became evident he was ready to play elsewhere this season, and despite receiving over 20 offers, a fair few of them from overseas, the England worldwide has made a decision to stay in the Premier League.

The England worldwide has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons and played only three times in the Premier League for Arsenal last season after suffering a fracture just prior to the start of the campaign.

“I’m delighted to have joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan and would like to thank everyone at the club for making me feel so welcome”, said Wilshere in a statement on Twitter“.

“Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal career will be over if he doesn’t play well at Bournemouth this season”, Redknapp wrote.

“It’s one that can work on both sides because I think he can definitely compliment our style of football and maybe add that missing piece of the jigsaw that we need”, Howe said.

Wilshere, who is not part of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, could make his Bournemouth debut after the global break at home to West Bromwich Albion on September 10.
