Wilshere deal a step into unknown, say Bournemouth
The attraction of staying in England was obvious given Wilshere has two young children and Cherries boss Eddie Howe is thought to have assured him of regular first-team action this season but Standard Sport understands he was seriously considering a move overseas in an effort to play Champions League or Europa League football.

The competition for places in the Arsenal midfield this year is fierce – a situation which Wilshere (apparently) is none too happy about, especially as he now has to force his way back into England manager Sam Allardyce’s plans.
Crystal Palace chief Steve Parish has spoken of their failed attempt to land Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
“Meanwhile, reports are also rife that Palace made a last-minute bid to try and sign Everton midfielder James McCarthy on loan, but were unsuccessful”.
Wilshere failed to start any of the three Arsenal games this season, with Arsene Wenger preferring the likes of Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny.
“He is a player that needs no introduction and one that, quite rightly, our supporters will be excited to see in a Bournemouth shirt”.
While that remains in the realm of speculation, one thing that is certain is that Wilshere will be given every opportunity to get as much Premier League game under his belt as possible at Bournemouth this season.
“He will bring a wealth of worldwide and Premier League experience, so we are delighted to be able to welcome a player of his calibre to the club”.

No Italian club agreed terms with Arsenal and Wilshere – whose £90,000-a-week wage will be covered by Bournemouth – and he opted to move to the south coast after being impressed by Howe during a meeting on Tuesday.
