Wilshere loan switch completed

Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that Jack Wilshere has completed a sensational move away from the club on deadline day after securing a season-long loan deal with Bournemouth. The midfielder is said to have been impressed by his best friend and ex-Arsenal player Benik Afobe’s encouragement for him to join the Cherries.

Mark McAdam has all the latest news on Jack Wilshere’s season-long loan to Bournemouth.

Wilshere was once regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in the Premier League, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has allowed the 24-year-old to leave the Emirates Stadium in a bid to revitalise his career.

It has been reported that Bournemouth agreed to pay a £2million loan fee to Arsenal and will also cover his £80,000-a-week wages in full.

“You’d have to ask whether Wenger fancies Wilshere, that would be my question to him”.

He will now hope a spell on the south coast under Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe can produce similar results.

Wilshere became Bournemouth’s eighth summer signing and Howe said the player could prove to be the missing piece of the jigsaw.

The England worldwide dominated the headlines on transfer deadline day, snubbing offers from bigger clubs to link up with Eddie Howe’s side in a bid to gain more first-team football.

“I am looking forward to working hard every day with the coaching staff and my new team-mates to help the club achieve success on the pitch”.

‘I think Jack is Arsenal’s best left-footed midfielder since Liam Brady, but injury has robbed him of much of his career. “Jack is on his own in terms of profile and that is the type of player we can now attract”.

“We were contacted and asked, ‘would we be interested?’ We said yes and threw our hat in the ring but the player made a decision to go to Bournemouth, I think one of his best mates plays there”.
