Wilshere move ‘a step into the unknown’ – Howe
AFC Bournemouth have completed the season-long loan signing of Jack Wilshere from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

“He was interested from the get-go”.
There have been enquiries from elsewhere on the continent, but Press Association Sport understands it is fellow Premier League teams Palace and Bournemouth who most appeal.
With injuries blighting his career – Wilshere missed pretty much the whole of last season – the key for the midfielder will be to get playing time, and after talking to manager Eddie Howe and former Arsenal teammate Benik Afobe, who is also the godfather to Wilshere’s child, the Arsenal Academy product made a decision to sign for Bournemouth.
“He has to perform whatever club you are at, whether you are at Bournemouth, Arsenal, Man United or Roma”.
UPDATE: Sky Italia has just announced that Jack Wilshere has opted to move to Crystal Palace rather than moving to Italy, where AS Roma had made a contract offer to sign him.
Serie A clubs Roma and AC Milan were competing with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth for his signature, but Wilshere ended up joining the Cherries on a one-year deal.
Regardless of Gnabry’s departure and Wilshere’s proposed move, Arsenal do not expect to recruit any further players before the transfer deadline. “We’ll work extremely hard to try and showcase him in the best way and I think our style of football will certainly help that”.
“He’s a very, very good player – that’s the level of player we are trying to bring to the club”. We wish to see him injury free this season, doing what he does best at the pitch and hopefully getting his place in the national team and inspiring Bournemouth to greener pastures and new heights.
“We had a good talk about football, about Bournemouth the place and the football club, thankfully he chose us”.
