A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. for the shoreline with high tides expected to be about a foot above normal.
The storm causing the heavy rain and strong winds should move out of the area by Friday morning, the weather bureau said. It’s not a noteworthy cold air mass for late October, with high temperatures about 5 to 10 degrees below average in most spots across the region. Precipitation will start again later in the day and through the night, possibly including a few snowfall mixed with rain.
