A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. for the shoreline with high tides expected to be about a foot above normal.

The storm causing the heavy rain and strong winds should move out of the area by Friday morning, the weather bureau said. It’s not a noteworthy cold air mass for late October, with high temperatures about 5 to 10 degrees below average in most spots across the region. Precipitation will start again later in the day and through the night, possibly including a few snowfall mixed with rain.

Rain and high winds are expected to continue through Wednesday night with up to an inch of rain possible. A few of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Thursday: Rain likely, mainly before 8am. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Mostly clear with a low around 45.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 59. Mostly cloudy with a low around 49. Mostly cloudy with a high near 64. Travel will be hard for high-profile vehicles, and trees with remaining leaves can be more easily toppled.
