The report suggests that Microsoft will focus on its high-end own-brand Windows 10 Mobile phones, but will enter into partnerships for mid and entry-level smartphones with vendors across Taiwan, China, India, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and other emerging countries.

Codenamed Talkman and Cityman, both phones have been the subject of several rumors that, if patched together, create a picture of two high-end phones that Microsoft will use to bear the flag for Windows 10 for mobile devices.

Furthermore, the new Lenovo Companion 3.0 optimisation tool can be used at any time to run a full-scale checkup and report back with specific actions to free up space and speed up the device. The company is reportedly also testing Lumia 850 codenamed “Saana” and Lumia 650 codenamed “Saimaa”.

Cortana has been readapted with local content as Microsoft seeks to increase Windows 10’s appeal to Chinese users.

As for its camera, Talkman will reportedly sport a 20-megapixel PureView rear camera, and a 5-megapixel wide-angle front facing camera.

The larger, 950 XL or Cityman, will come with a 5.7-inch display, and nearly a similar set of specs. The device is expected to house an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and will be backed by a 3,300mAh battery.

Both smartphones will support Qi wireless charging and also an infrared scanner that will unlock the device in seconds.

Microsoft is also said to be working on another Intel-powered device.

The operating system brings with it many new apps and features including the Cortana AI assistant, the Microsoft Edge browser, and an Xbox app. One of the most important new features of the OS is Windows Hello, a biometric security platform enabling multimodal authentication of users.
