This record-setting claim of Microsoft is supported by Computer World who said that 30 days after it was launched, Windows 10’s usage was 37% higher than that of Windows 7 after its first 30 days of availability.
To manage the strain on its servers and deal with any compatibility issues, Microsoft has staggered the Windows 10 rollout.
Windows 10 has a number of built-in data collections tools enabled by default, such as sending physical whereabouts, Web browser history, contacts and calendar records, and “typing and linking” data, among other telemetry, to Microsoft servers. And it will presumably be expanded to other Windows 10 markets, as well as Cortana on Windows phones. Threshold 2 isn’t a “big” update compared to Redstone, which is Microsoft’s next major update for Windows 10 that will pack a whole load of new features for consumers and enterprises.
How can you upgrade to Windows 10?
This changed recently with the release of several updates for both operating systems that step up the game. To reach 1 billion devices, Microsoft needs an excellent user experience – free will only get you so far.
Silicon Beat magazine says if you have an Asus computer in particular, you need to be wary of upgrading to 10. You can go into Cortana’s “About Me” section to review what type of information she is collecting and edit it, or completely turn her off.

The technology is available in Microsoft Office and Word Online to translate documents and productivity tools, and is being provided in widget form allowing the translation capabilities to be added to a website or blog.
