Following the launch of Windows 10 this week, Microsoft is on its way to reaching its billion device dream, with more than 14 million devices upgrading to the operating system (OS) during the first day.

CEO Chris Beard took to the company’s blog Thursday to write an open letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, highlighting a “disturbing aspect” of Windows 10.

For comparison, Microsoft sold 40 million licenses for Windows 8, its last major operating system, in the first month of availability in 2012. Unlike Windows 8, which was met with heavy criticism even before it was released to the public, the response to Windows 10 has been, for the most part, pretty positive. (No, there is no Windows 9).

If you upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, Microsoft will save all of your files in a folder called Windows.old.

Although Microsoft has said it wants to preserve the “quality of the upgrade experience”, it said in an update that it was pushing to make Windows 10 available to all those that reserved it within the next few days. Installing Windows 10 automatically sets Edge as a user’s default browser. Windows 10 includes features such as Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-based smart assistant, an Xbox app for gaming and a Microsoft Edge, a new web browser that replaces Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

Microsoft released the very anticipated Windows 10 on Wednesday. The Windows 10 upgrade is being sent out in waves as well, so there are probably many more people waiting for their upgrade to arrive. Devices running Windows 10 will be available in some retail stores around the world between mid-August and September.

With a new operating system comes new ways to ensure that your personal computer remains personal, i.e.no bypassing it for strangers.

Mozilla has uploaded a video to its official YouTube account demonstrating how to switch default web browsers in Windows 10. The 32-bit Windows 10 requires 1 GB of RAM and the 64-bit requires 2GB. But, it is not possible now and Windows 10 shows a settings page instead.
