WINDOWS Microsoft Wants You Using Windows 10, Like It or Not
New apps are being designed for Windows 10, so if you have an older system, you might find yourself shut out.

The ESR preview requires Windows 10 – the November upgrade, to be specific, that’s labeled 1511 – and a subscription to Azure AD Premium.
I brought up this issue early when the company started releasing cumulative updates for Windows 10 in my article: Windows 10 Gets New Cumulative Update KB3081455, Should We Know What’s in These? So most of us don’t really need to be running a full-blown operating system like Windows or OS X. More importantly, most of us don’t need to be paying for a full-blown operating system! While not completely reversing course, Microsoft has now come up with a compromise, a website that lists Windows 10’s update history and details. The most notable non-security update is a fix to the Edge browser that prevents it from caching visited URLs when using InPrivate mode.
I was never all that clear on what users were looking for, but I don’t feel any better informed by the Windows 10 update history page provided by Microsoft. The surprising thing about his research is that he found that it was spying on him even after choosing a custom Windows 10 installation and disabling the all three pages of tracking options which are all enabled by default.
One of the bigger complaints in the Windows 10 community about Windows 10 updates is the lack of information about them. But the process won’t be quick, as the cloud-based directory and identity service doesn’t blend well with legacy and near-legacy editions of Windows, like Windows 7, and the user profiles that power settings-and-more synchronization there. Until now, it was just rolling them out and not actually telling users what the update was for.
Interestingly, the Windows 10 feature allows people to use their phone like a PC by connecting it to a monitor and transforming it for larger-screen entertainment, or adding a keyboard and mouse to work like a PC with Windows 10 apps like Microsoft Office, while simultaneously taking calls or performing other tasks. Packed with the most common questions to do with Windows 10, it’s likely the trending list could also include your query.
Microsoft will continue issuing small updates like today’s to address Windows 10 security and performance issues. In doing so, those who have set their machine to automatically get important updates will get Windows 10, too. Microsoft is now reclassifying Windows 10 as “recommended” rather than “optional”.

The new site will do what it says on the tin, namely, documenting the salient points of each update beginning from the one rolled out yesterday, February 9.
