Windows version of Office 2016 will be out on September 22
Now, Microsoft has announced when Office 2016 for Windows will be rolled out. “If you have a volume licensing agreement in place, you can download Office 2016 from the Volume Licensing Service Center starting October 1st”. The much anticipated Office Suite will be quite similar to the existing version, hence provide a more familiar environment for the users.

For the early birds who can’t wait to have a sneak-peek, or those who want to aid the development of the Office 16, or just want to get their hands on it, can get consumer preview copy of the software, available for free from Microsoft.
The Office 16 suite has a colorful new design, which is already present in Mac and mobile version of the software.
The post further said that current Office 365 ProPlus users will continue to receive monthly feature and security updates. “Microsoft is improving Outlook 2016 search, attachments, storage footprint, and email delivery performance, alongside some improvements to image insertion in Word 2016 and Excel 2016”. Perhaps the biggest thing about the productivity suite is its availability across multiple platforms, which enables it to be available for multi-authoring and allows for easier sharing among peers.
“Current Branch for Business” is a new option from Microsoft. Office 365 has been available in a lot of desktops and devices since its introduction. Office 2016 will also have updates with other commonly used Microsoft programs like Word and Excel.
Addressing a number of the other top IT requests in Office 365 ProPlus, deployment support for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) has been incorporated to help control network traffic when deploying updates. However, Microsoft has a broader mix of Business and Enterprise plans among its Office 365 offerings.
As part of the Office overhaul, Microsoft enhanced the upgrade and installation experience and, for Office 365 subscribers, made changes to how the 2016 apps are updated. The first Current Branch for Business build will be released next February, with basically the same feature set as the September 22 release but with adding four additional months of security updates.

“As of now, Current Branch [for Office 2016] will follow the same cadence – aka Patch Tuesday”, the spokesperson explained.
